Greeting Cards
Some of my images are now available as greeting cards on Greeting Card Universe .com. I just recieved some of the cards which I am using for Christmas cards and they are beautiful. Good quality paper and quality printing. I am very happy with them and will upload several images to choose from. You can see the assortment by clicking on the link at the top of this page which will take you to my GCU page. Amazing isn't it?? The cards are reasonably priced, you can purchase individual ones and they ship in one day. You can order them blank or with a greeting of your choice. It's easy to do and they do a great job.

Left Leaning
Watercolor on paper, 5x7, $95.00
I've been experimenting with some new watercolor/ink pencils while I am here in California. It's an easy travel medium and I love the bright colors and the interesting washes they produce. More like working with ink than watercolor. So here's my first post with my new medium. After I realized these friut have a heavy list to the left I just knew what the title had to be. Watercolor is so much easier to ship than pastel that I thought these could be purchased unframed and you can do as you like when you get it. As usual shipping within the US is included in the price.

Then we're headed to San Francisco for awhile where I'll be doing some new plein air work and some more still life. Should be fun and hopefully some new and interesting blogs will appear.
In the meantime I have work at 4 events in the coming weeks so be sure to visit any of the shows I've listed on the events page and check over at Fine Art America (link above) and see what's happening there.

Red Pears
Pastel on Wallis, 5x5 image, 11 x14 framed, original $95.00, giclee print $22.00 at FAA
I'll stay on the still life theme for a couple of days while I get these over onto the FAA gallery. This original pastel is presented in the 11x14 mat as usual. Shipping in the US is included in the price. You can also purchase a print of this painting over at the FAA site (see the link at the top of this page). I've checked the quality of their giclee process and the prints I've received are excellent. I have several friends using their service and they are happy with it as well. I'll be offering more prints over there as I have time to get them posted. If you have a favorite that you would like a print of, let me know and I'll post it over there.

Afternoon Glow
Pastel on handmade paper, 5x5, 11x14 matted, $95.00
I'm back from my painting trip. I got a lot of work done but it's not ready to post yet. I just posted this painting on FAA so I thought I'd put it here as well. If you have a chance click on the FAA link above, it is easier to see all the pieces that are available than it is on this blog.

Marsh Mist II
Pastel on Wallis, 5x5, 11x14 framed, $95.00
I'm off on a painting trip to the midcoast of Maine. The folliage should be at its peak. I'm hoping to have lots of new pieces to post when I get back. This piece is matted to 11x14 (see how it looks by scolling on the right hand side bar). Price includes shipping.

Marsh Magic #1
Oil on wood panel, 6x6, ready to hang, 90.00
I've been doing a lot of painting lately to get ready for the Maine Women in the Arts Fall show. I've done a series of 7 marsh paintings in oil. Monet always recommended painting in a series so this is my marsh series. Here is the first one - I'll post one each day. These panels have 1" sides which are painted black so these small works are ready to hang. You could also frame them if you like. Email me if this painting interests you. Price includes shipping with in the US.

Marsh Fog
Pastel on Wallis, 5x5, $95.00
Here's the first of the paintings I did in Goose Rocks last week with my friends from Pastel Painters of Maine. The fog rolled in as we were painting there in the marsh and obscured some of the background houses. This piece is 5x5 and is in a white mat 11x14. You can see how this looks by scrolling down the right hand sidebar. If you're interested in purchasing this painting send me an email. Price includes shipping within the US.

Scarborough Marsh #5
Pastel on Wallis, 6x12, Sold
I was going through the postings yesterday and found that this painting had never been posted. It was the larger of the Scarborough Marsh series that I finished in June and July. Now it has a new home in Connecticut. Even though it's been sold I wanted to have it recorded on the blog and I thought you might enjoy seeing it. There are a couple of small paintings from this series still available, check the June blogs and you'll find them.
It has finally stopped raining here. Wednesday I painted with the Plein Air Painters of Maine out on Ocean Point near Boothbay Harbor. Thursday I painted with Pastel Painters of Maine at Goose Rocks Beach/Marsh near Kennebunkport. So I'll be posting some of those paintings as soon as they are finished. It was really great to be outside painting again. What an August we've had.

Morning, Scarborough Marsh
Pastel on Wallis, image 8x8, 14x14 framed, $300
I took a few days off from painting after the show. This marsh painting I did a little while ago, it actually has a yellow sky which my camera fails to pick up. I'll try another photo of painting if you are interested in it. It is framed as shown on the righthand side bar and it's quite lovely. Shipping within the US is included. Email me if you are interested.

Stroudwater Marsh
Pastel on Wallis, 5.5x5.5, matted to 11x14 $95.00
Stroudwater is a section of Portland that goes back to Colonial times and it is a beautiful reminder of our Portland history. The marsh there is particularly lovely. It is where, in earliest times, the trees for masts were loaded onto ships to be carried to the shipyards. The Tate House, which is open to the public, was the home of the mast agent. This interpretation of the marsh is 51/2 x 51/2, and is matted to 11x14. See the sidebar to the right to see what that looks like. Price includes shipping in the US.

Low Tide
Pastel on Wallis, 6x12 image, framed 12x18, Sold
I'm really into the marshes this week. What's new?? I painted at Scarborough Marsh this morning but I wanted to post this piece that I just framed from a paintout at Stroudwater Marsh earlier in the spring. It was freezing that morning and then it started to rain, but I did manage to get this piece done. The image is 6x12 and is framed in a gold plein air frame. You can see what the frame looks like on the right sidebar. Price includes shipping within the US.

Scarborough Marsh #3
Pastel on Wallis, 5x5 image, matted to 11x14, Sold
I'm on a roll. Here is another 5x5 that I painted last Monday on the Scarborough Marsh paintout. It was pretty foggy at this point in time, but not as foggy as it was earlier in the morning. The fog sometimes makes the colors pretty vivid, esp when the sun begins to break through. This piece is matted to a white 11x14 mat for which it is easy to find a frame. You can see what it looks like when it is matted on the right hand sidebar. Shipping includes postage within the US.

Pemaquid II
Pastel on Wallis, 5x5, matted to 11x14, Sold
I finally got a Pemaquid piece matted. This painting was done on our weekend trip to Pemaquid with Pastel Painters of Maine. 22 of us gathered there about a month ago. We had a great time but the weather was just awful for a bunch of plein air painters. This one I did before the rain set in but it was a pretty overcast day. My camera has distorted the yellow here, the yellow in the foreground is not as orange as it appears in this photo.

Good News
Midsummer Night's Dream - Moon Rising, paper pulp and mixed media, $1000
I got some really good news today. I entered two of my paper pulp (and mixed media) pieces in the Barn Gallery Regional Artists open juried show in Ogunquit and both were accepted. This juried show was established in the days of the Ogunquit Art Colony by some of the very best 20th Century American painters and according to the gallery it is still "the most prestigious juried exhibition in the seacoast area." I'm honored to have my work included in a show at a gallery that has made such an important contribution to the history of American Art. Moon Rising is one of the two pieces accepted. Sorry about the flash in the photo. I forgot to turn the flash off on the camera.
Other good news. Yesterday was a fantastic painting day at the marsh and I'll be posting some of those paintings in the next few days.

Deep Woods
Pastel on Wallis, 9 x 12, $375.00
WOW. It's been almost a month since I posted anything. I've been traveling along the east coast with my husband on his book tour. Now we will be doing events closer to home so I'll be able to do more posting.
I did get this painting framed. It's very impressionistic. I painted it one lovely summer afternoon last year when I was painting with the Pastel Painters of Maine at the home of one of our members in Whitefield Maine. The woods were spectacular and I wanted to capture the light as it came through the trees. The image is 9 x 12 and the framed size is 15 x 18. The frame is the gold plein air that I almost always use. The price includes shipping within the U.S.

Morning, Scarborough Marsh
Pastel on Wallis, 8x8 image, 14x14 framed, $280.00
I've been going through my paintings getting ready for the upcoming shows and I noticed that this piece never got posted. This is a classic image (for me) of the Scarborough Marsh. I love painting there. The colors are always changing. This one was done early in the morning when the colors were very dramatic. The image is 8x8 and is framed in a gold plein air frame. Framed size is 14x14. Shipping within the US is included. If this interests you please email me.

Gilsland Farm, spring
Pastel on sanded Wallis, 5x7, framed 10x12, SOLD
I've been able to get out more to paint lately and now I am finishing up a number of plein air pieces that I hope to get posted in the next few days.
I painted with our Pastel Painters of Maine plein air group last Thursday. This 5x7 is from that trip. Gilsland Farm is the main headquarters for the Maine Audubon Society and it is a great painting location. I've framed this original painting in a gold plein air frame. The price includes shipping within the US.

Casco Bay 1
Pastel on prepared board, 5x5, $95.00
I am finally getting outside to do some painting. It's still a little chilly but it gets warmer each day. I am so happy to be painting plein air again. Here's a colorful view of Casco Bay looking out at Mackworth Island. I'm going to be doing a Casco Bay series - this is the first one. It is matted the same as all the 5x5's to 11x14 and the price includes shipping within the US.

Waiting for Spring
Pastel on sanded paper, 5x5, Sold
It's snowing again. The only thing to post is something titled "Waiting for Spring". I painted this last year at Black Rock Farm in Kennebunkport where they had lots of pots stacked up - waiting for spring. It's supposed to be 54 degrees here tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it.
This painting is framed in an ornate 3" wide brown wooden frame which suits the painting perfectly. The price includes shipping within the US. Email me if you're interested and I'll photograph the frame as well.

I finally got out to paint today. Scarborough Marsh was completely deserted and a little snow was still left on the ground but it was warm enough to paint for awhile. This original painting is available unframed for $95.00 or in a gold metal frame for $125.00. Shipping within the US is included. For more information email me.
