It is a very dreary, foggy day here today. I thought a colorful painting was called for. This is a summertime interpretation of Scarborough Marsh. I do a lot of painting there, so although this one is sold I'll be painting many more Marsh views. This image is available as a notecard and is included in the Scarborough Marsh assortment. See info at right of screen.

It's about time I posted another painting. I love this view of Casco Bay. This place is called Trefethen which is a passage between Peaks Island and Great Diamond Island. You can easily see this from the Eastern Prom and there is something about the view that fascinates me. It is very atmospheric and the colors are always different. This piece is sold but trust me there will be another painting of this view sometime soon. The image is available as a notecard and is included in the Casco Bay Assortment.

I won't be able to post a painting tomorrow so I'm adding a second today. Same ancient tall white pines. These are the trees they used to make masts of in the time of wooden sailing ships. This piece is quite a bit larger than most of the paintings I post. I generally make paintings this size as a commission project. This image is also available on notecards.
It is snowing and snowing and snowing. I decided to put up a summer picture today. These are the beautiful white Maine pines in the village of Sheepscot. They are very old and quite extraordinary. This image is available on a notecard, see information at the right of screen.

I am doing more still life these days. This vase with flowers was sitting next to the window on the fireplace mantle in our summer cottage and I loved how it caught the light. This original painting is available in a somewhat elaborate 3" gold and wood frame that really compliments the image. Shipping is included. For more information email me at email@example.com

It has been snowing like crazy this December. We took a drive out to Pineland in New Gloucester to see the snowy landscape. It was so beautiful there I had to do this painting. Framed in a 3" gold plein air frame, it is stunning. $350 includes shipping within the US. For more information email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

Scarborough Marsh is another of my favorite painting spots. You'll see more paintings done there from time to time. There is a path through the marsh which makes it possible to paint right in the marsh. Spectacular. This image is available as a notecard, see information at right of screen.

It's been pretty gloomy here lately so I chose a cheerful painting for today. Unfortunately this photo does not show the yellow as bright as it is in the actual painting. I use a lot of yellow so this is unfortunate but this is a very cheery view of Casco Bay. The image is 5 x 5 and is matted in an elegant white mat to a standard 11 x 14 size. This original painting is available unframed for $95.00 or with a gold metal frame for $125.00. Shipping is included. For more information email me at email@example.com

I paint a lot of Casco Bay scenes. The archipelago is so beautiful and serene on a calm summer day. During a storm however, it is quite a different scene. This image is very popular as a notecard. See information at right of screen.

This is a painting done at the Maine Audubon Society's Gilsland Farm in Falmouth, Maine. It is a very popular place for walking and birding and I paint there quite often. This image is available as a notecard, see information at right of screen.
