I went down to Scarborough Marsh yesterday to take some photos. It was 20 degrees and the scene did not look like this. I painted this last summer and it seems to get a lot of attention on the internet so I thought I would post it today to remind us that summer will come again. New Snow, Maine

We were driving to Biddeford the other day and this scene struck me. It was late afternoon and the sun was getting ready to set, the hazy sky making the sun ball look misty. "It looked like snow" and indeed the next day we got 18" of the white stuff. This painting is framed in a gold plein air frame. Shipping in the US is included.

Yesterday it was snowing all day. It seemed like a good time to do a still life painting. These pears were lined up on my counter just like this. They looked like such characters lined up like that. I'm back in Maine. I was very anxious to get back to painting and was happy I had left a few unfinished paintings on my easel to get me started. I took out some newly arrived Terry Ludwig pastels was able to complete this painting this morning. Good thing - it's below zero today - not good for plein air painting.
