Today on Daily Paintworks

Winter Marsh, acrylic and mixed media on board, 10" x 10"

Winter Marsh seems an appropriate image for today's listing on Daily Paintworks. Where I live we have had some 6 or 7 feet of snow in the last couple of weeks. The Maine marshes are especially beautiful though when they are snow covered and the ice flows create an interesting pattern. So this mixed media painting is available on Daily Paintworks today. Mt. Monadnock

As you know I have recently relocated to New Hampshire. I am very excited that I will now be able to paint in the beautiful Monadnock area of the state. Recently I took a photo trip to Mt Monadnock. It was a lovely sunny day and I was pretty disappointed that when we got to the the mountain it was pretty much covered by a snow cloud. I guess mountains have their own weather. I did get a few good pictures and so this painting. This is an acrylic painting on gallery wrap canvas. 6" x 6" x 1". Nashua Art Walk October 18 and 19

The artists of the Picker Gallery will join artists all around Nashua for the annual fall Nashua Art Walk. Our gallery will be open on Saturday October 18 and Sunday October 19 from 12-4. First Friday

I've not been keeping up with this blog the last year in favor of My Plein Air Painter's Journal. Now I've decided to reactivate this blog and post some of the pictures that I've been painting. These three are ACEO's (2.5"x3.5") that I painted at Pemaquid a couple of weeks ago.  ACEO's are popular to collect these days as they are very reasonably priced. Pemaquid of course

Yesterday, Dec 1, was the first day of the December Facebook painting challenge. The challenge is to make 20 paintings or sketches before the holidays. Since I've been traveling so much I haven't held a paintbrush for over 2 months. I really needed something to get me back into the studio. Yesterday was an incredibly beautiful and warm day for Maine in December. I had planned to paint in the studio but could not pass up the chance to go to my favorite plein air spot, Pemaquid Point. This is a 6x6 watercolor. Even though it was a sunny day I still needed to work from the car. Watercolor is the best medium under those circumstances. Holiday Reception at Yarmouth Frame and Gallery

It's time for the holiday art receptions. Saturday, Dec 3 is the date for the Holiday Reception at Yarmouth Frame Shop and Gallery. 30 gallery artists will be showing small works for holiday giving. "Green Pears" is one of my contributions. 10% of all original art sales at the gallery will go to Toys for Tots. Stop by and meet many of the artists on Saturday from 4-7. If you can't make it on Saturday, stop by anytime during December. The gallery will be open 7 days a week. The Yarmouth Frame Shop and Gallery is located at 720 Rt One in Yarmouth. Plein Air Painting

It's been a long, cold, snowy winter and now a long, cold, drizzly spring. Hard to get out to do much plein air. I thought today I would post my daily painting wall that I've put together in the studio. I'm hoping the weather will improve so that I can add more paintings to this wall.
